Message from the Broker
Meet Grant
My name is Grant Waugh. I was born and raised in Roswell, Georgia. A love for real estate in my family goes back to my great great great grandma Georgia Mae Duffel Mitchell. During the great depression, when work was hard to come by, Georgia Mae was able to secure a loan to build a home in Atlanta. She went on to build and sell several homes in one of Atlanta’s oldest and unique neighborhoods, Virginia-Highland. Many of those homes are still there to this day! Fast forward to today, my father is a respected custom home builder, so I’ve been immersed in the world of real estate from a young age. After earning my BS in Communications with a minor in Business Management from the University of West Georgia, I embarked on a career in technology as a technical business analyst. However, my true calling in real estate became apparent when I purchased my first property – a fixer-upper that I transformed into a profitable investment through a house hack/renovation scenario.
Driven by my newfound passion, I transitioned into the real estate industry full-time, obtaining my license in 2019. Beginning my journey with a boutique brokerage specializing in real estate investment, I honed my skills working closely with the broker on agent transactions for buyers and sellers and helped start a new investment company focused on purchasing and reselling investment-grade properties. Over time, I expanded my expertise and network by joining a boutique brokerage with offices in Atlanta, Blue Ridge, and Rosemary Beach, where I continued to thrive as an agent and continued to invest in real estate along the way.
Today, as the proud owner and broker of Down Home Properties, my mission is simple: to provide expert guidance and support to my clients at every stage of their real estate journey. With over 50 transactions and more than $16 million in volume under my belt as a principal or agent, I bring a wealth of experience and a robust network of industry professionals to every interaction.
